Rally on the Red
The Rally on the Red is the annual FREE event the day before the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl to bring local fans and traveling fans together in the Red River District and downtown Shreveport. The Rally on the Red includes:
- Pub Crawl
- Mardi Gras Preview Parade
- Pep Rally and Battle of the Bands

The Pub Crawl features many of downtown Shreveport’s best bars and restaurants. The full list of locations will be announced at a later date.
MARDI GRAS PREVIEW PARADE & PEP RALLY
Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets, Downtown Shreveport & Red River District
The FREE parade will feature the bands, cheerleaders and mascots from each team, as well as over 20 Mardi Gras floats and other festivities down the main street of the Boardwalk.
Following the parade, the two schools’ bands will gather in the Red River District for a Pep Rally and Battle of the Bands.
Red River District
Following the Pub Crawl, Mardi Gras Preview Parade and Pep Rally/Battle of the Bands, fans can gather in the Red River District for a FREE concert! The first two years of the event have featured performances from The Toadies and Parish County Line.
